Many of you had probably "given up" on this section of our school web site!  It's been a busy school opening.  Early announcements about opportunities and scholarships have been made available through morning announcements.  However, the October newsletter is being made available today.  Please click on "Links" and "Forms" (just above...in blue) for important information regarding planning for college and career...and for applying for scholarships....Go to Forms and click on Senior/Junior Newsletter - October 4, 2009 - for the most recent information.

Seniors and Juniors...What were the degrees correlating with the highest salaries offered to the Class of 2009 college graduates? According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the top 15 are listed within this article.  Please go to http://www.cnbc.com/id/29408064?slide=1 Money may not buy true happiness; however, as long as you're considering college majors, you should be an informed consumer.

Just a few important reminders:

ALL Holt students have access to a social worker or school counselor in the Counseling Center.   It's important to attend every class; however, we're here when you need us.  PLEASE LET US KNOW HOW WE CAN ASSIST YOU!

ALL Sophomores are scheduled to take the PLAN on Tuesday, Oct. 13th at 8:00 a.m.  Students may visit  www.planstudent.org to view sample test questions. (Parents may go to "Forms" under Social/Guidance...and click on "Things to Know about the PLAN".  Sophomores should have received this information within their advisory groups on 9/30.)

Pre-registered students in grades 9 -11 will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, Oct. 14th at 8:00. (Parents and students may go to "Forms" under Social/Guidance...and click on "Things to Know about the PSAT".  Students should have also received this information within their classes.)
